Latest Raydon Patents

Raydon has formed an Intellectual Property (IP) Board that meets on a regular basis. IP is an intangible strategic asset and property right that can be protected under federal and state laws.  It includes copyrightable works, ideas, discoveries and inventions and can consist of patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.

Your IP board members are: Bill Rice, Eric Snyder, Tara Kilcullen, Terry Peres, Kurt Bouwman and Rob Macchiarella – chair. The IP Board will help review and prioritize inventions relative to; Patent, Copyright, Trademark and Trade Secrets pursuits and help maintain a centralized repository for all Raydon IP.

Individual Gunnery Trainer with Sensing Platform (May 3, 2016)

A method for the simulation of a single weapon system in a transportable enclosure.  The system and method includes a frame and weapon mount on the frame that receives various simulated weapons (M240B, .50 Cal, Mk19). The system also includes a force sensing platform, coupled to the frame, on which a single trainee stands. When rotational foot pressure is applied to the platform by the trainee, this generates a virtual orientation signal. The system also includes a head-mounted display worn by the trainee that receives a display signal representative of a virtual environment to be simulated to the trainee, and a controller in electrical communication with the sensing platform and the display, wherein the controller receives the virtual orientation signal and generates the display signal in response such that rotation pressure applied to the platform by the trainee results in rotation of the virtual environment displayed to the trainee. Vehicle Crew Training System (Oct. 21, 2014)

Same as US8777619 but adds that; one of the crewman modules can be a gunner module, which provides an unrestricted view of the simulated environment to the gunner by means of a head mounted display and a simulated vehicle-mounted weapon and turret ring, modifies claim to not limit vehicles to ground & air only.  [59 claims]

  • Patent # US8864496
  • Title Vehicle Crew Training System

Vehicle Crew Training System for Ground and Air Vehicles (July 15, 2014)

Vehicle Crew Training System (VCTS) simulates crew positions for different military ground and air vehicles. Two or more crewman modules can be networked together to support a partial or full vehicle crew. The crewman modules are self-contained devices that are modular in hardware and software design, easily reconfigurable, and require minimal facility space, allowing use in restricted environments such as trailers. The VCTS is modular at the crew position level, crewman modules are added or deleted as required to meet a particular training need.  [14 claims]
